A slide that argues one clear claim improves audience comprehension and retention.

I help engineers, consultants, and leaders build presentations people actually remember. I studied and researched Michael Alley's Assertion-Evidence method at Penn State, and I've applied it ever since.

Heat Pump Cycle
Traditional slide: Heat Pump Cycle, a bulleted list of ten steps in the refrigeration cycle
Assertion-Evidence slide: a heat pump moves heat rather than generating it, with a labeled diagram of the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator

Same content. One version tells you what to remember.

The Method

One sentence stating your point beats a phrase headline every time.

Michael Alley developed the Assertion-Evidence method at Penn State. I contributed to his research as a student and co-author, and remain a practitioner of it today.

Assertion

The headline is a full sentence stating the one claim worth remembering.

Evidence

The body shows proof: a chart, image, or diagram, instead of restating the claim in text.

Services

I work with clients in one of three ways: teaching, building, or refining.

Teach

Workshops

Hands-on sessions that teach your team to build assertion-driven visual aids and deliver with confidence. With Michael Alley, I also offer a women's development course, previously taught at Texas Instruments.

Build

Presentation Creation

Send your data, objectives, and background material. I pull out the argument that matters, build the deck, and hand you a script outline. You just need to practice and deliver.

Refine

Slide Makeovers

Hourly help on an existing deck. We open with a working session on your content. We meet mid-cycle to trade feedback. We finish with a final review and delivery coaching before you present.
